Every year on 30 April, the Foreign Legion celebrates Camerone Day, it's the most important day of the Legion calendar. The festival honors the 62 legionnaires led by Captain Jean Danjou who fought to the death in the battle of Camerone against a Mexican contigent of 2,000 men in 1863. This year our delegation will also visit the Musée de la Légion étrangère, that after has been closed for renovation, will re-open to the public on 30 April.
