MARATHON DES SABLES

Wednesday, 17 February 2016 00:00
Our fellow paratrooper Max Wright, a serving Parachute Regiment Officer, will be running the MdS in order to raise money for the ABF the Soldiers charity. They provide financial and practical support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate family in times of need, even after they have left the Army. Any and all money raised will go to the ABF in order to assist them in continuing their good work and support to those in need. The Marathon des Sables is a multi-day ‘ultra-marathon’ run in six days over a course of 156 (254km) miles. Known simply as the MdS, the race is a gruelling multi-stage adventure through a formidable landscape in one of the world’s most inhospitable climates - the Sahara desert. The rules require you to be self-sufficient and carry with you on your back everything, except water, that you need to survive. Click here for more information.
